Collection Officer - Professional Services Sector

About the Firm

A leading professional services firm committed to providing exceptional solutions to their clients, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment, with an immediate start and opportunity to take on a 3-month contract for an experienced collections / credit controller with either Financial or Professional Services industry experience.

Role Overview:

As a collections officer within this leading professional services firm, you will play a crucial role in collections of outstanding invoices. You will be responsible for chasing outstanding invoices and ensuring that payment targets are met efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Following up on overdue payments, and reconciling accounts.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure timely payment.
  • Resolve any billing or payment queries, liaising with both internal teams and clients.
  • Monitor aged debt reports, highlighting potential issues and proposing solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and payment histories.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on the status of outstanding debts.
  • Ensure compliance with company credit policies and maintain a positive cash flow.
Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Credit/Collection Controller, within the professional services sector.
  • Strong knowledge of credit control principles and accounting processes.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Experience with managing high-value accounts or working in a high-volume environment is an advantage.
