About the CompanyWe are looking for an Engineer Civil Asset Maintenanceto join a government department in Blacktown. This is a 4 month contract role paying $52 - 59 per hour + super. This role has flexible work environment with a collaborative culture.
About the Role
- Assist in the supervision of subordinate staff and contractors.
- Schedule annual improvement program and individual projects.
- Provide accurate pre-construction estimates.
- Liaise with public authorities to minimise delays and cost to project.
- Maintain cost control and be aware of financial situation at all stages of construction.
- Provide information to inspectors in order to maintain efficiency.
- Establish and maintain quality control measures for all projects.
- Initiate improvements and upgrade work procedures and use of materials to expedite works programs and reduce costs. Identify staff problems and find solutions.
- Sign orders and invoices.
- Advise and supply all details to Manager support required for tenders.
- Liaise with the public in regard to any problems including arranging letters of reply.
Skills & Experience
- A Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or relevant qualification
- Current Drivers’ Licence Class C.
- Previous government experience is ideal
