About the Company

We are looking for a Injury Management Specialist to be responsible for providing employee relations and injury management and Work Health and Safety (WHS) case management and advisory support to people leaders and team members. This is a 3 month contract paying  $604.00 to $647.00 per Day + Super based in Sydney CBD.

 
About the Role
  • Manage work and non-work-related illness or injury cases with a strong focus on early invention.
  • Manage workers compensation claims and non-work related illness or injury to ensure successful return and/or recovery at work.
  • Provide proactive coaching and advice to the HR Business Partners and relevant people leaders in order to support return to work outcomes and employee safety and wellbeing generally
  • Maintain appropriate records of injuries and illnesses occurring at the workplace in accordance with legislative requirements and provide relevant reports.
  • Support the monitoring and review of  Work Health and Safety (WHS) Management System.
  • Assist with reviewing trends in incident data to identify and address WHS risks.
  • Work in collaboration with the People Experience team to implement emergency management procedures and consistently apply relevant legislation and policy.
  • Support employee consultation on matters affecting health and safety, with a focus on injury prevention.
  • Support the monitoring and review of the WHS Incidents.
  • Employee Relations and Escalated Advisory
  • Provide day-to-day support and advice on a range of employee relations matters to guide and support people leaders and team members, in collaboration with the Business Partnering team.
  • Manage employee relations cases from start-to-end and provide proactive advice to support people leaders and team members in achieving mutually agreeable outcomes in a timely manner.
  • Analyse and provide oral and written advice on employee relations matters in consultation with key stakeholders.
  • Collaboration with Manager, ER Strategy and ER Lead to ensure cases are managed in line with appropriate legal advice.
  • Research and analyse complex employee relations matters and recommend solutions which are appropriate and consistent with relevant legislative frameworks, industrial instruments and best practices.
  • Interpret, analyse and provide advice on a broad range of employee relations matters, consistent with legislative frameworks and precedents and in a matter that ensures understanding and acceptance.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of employee relations initiatives, including a case management toolkit with templates and precedents to support achieving our strategic employee relations objectives.
  • Coach, support and influence people leaders and stakeholders in the ongoing development of employee relations processes and procedures, to support operational excellence.
  • Contribute to driving a shared sense of direction, a culture of performance, accountability and service and ensuring a collaborative working approach with all other business areas.

Skills & Experience
  • Demonstrated experience working in human resources, employee relations and work health & safety in a large organisation.
  • Employee relations experience working in the NSW Public Sector
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Developed understanding of and interest in employment law and work health &safety laws
