Job description
Job SummaryWe are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with a strong foundation in the design and development of high-performance mechanical systems. This role involves creating innovative mechanical solutions that integrate seamlessly into complex electromechanical systems. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, creative, and thrives in a fast-paced, cross-disciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design mechanical components and assemblies for electromechanical systems, from concept through production.
- Develop 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and documentation in accordance with industry best practices.
- Perform tolerance analysis, stress analysis (FEA), and thermal considerations to ensure robustness and manufacturability.
- Collaborate closely with electrical, mechatronics, and software teams to ensure mechanical designs meet system-level requirements.
- Support rapid prototyping, testing, and iteration cycles.
- Source components and work with vendors to bring designs to life efficiently.
- Conduct root-cause analysis and implement design improvements based on testing and field data.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant standards, safety regulations, and product requirements.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical design for complex systems or machinery.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, or Fusion 360) and familiarity with PDM systems.
- Strong understanding of material selection, DFM/DFA principles, and mechanical tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience working with precision mechanisms, actuators, bearings, gears, and enclosures.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, sheet metal, injection molding, and 3D printing.
- Strong analytical skills and familiarity with FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience in robotics, automation, or motion control systems.
- Familiarity with integration of sensors, actuators, and thermal systems.
- Hands-on prototyping and lab experience with mechanical assemblies.
- Exposure to high-reliability or regulated industries (e.g., medical, aerospace, semiconductor).
- Experience with vacuum systems, cleanroom environments, or mechatronic integration.
