Job description

  • Contract Role – 6 Months – With a view to extend to 12
  • Up to $75.95 p/h + Super (Depending on Experience)

Primary Purpose of the Role
This position is responsible for project managing the delivery (from initiation to handover) of a diverse, complex and at times, sensitive range of capital projects and programs from across the organisation within the P3M Project Management Framework.

Key Responsibilities & Duties
  • Project manage the delivery of a significant volume of capital projects and programs, ranging in size, nature, sensitivity and complexity, from initiation to operational handover including client liaison; survey; design; costing; consultation; tendering / procurement; construction; defects remediation and review using department and other procured resources.
  • Manage the engagement of any external resources required to deliver the project, including the supervision and administration of the engagement.
  • Negotiate, mediate and resolve complex project management and contractual issues to achieve positive outcomes and make decisions within delegated authority to ensure optimal safe outcomes are achieved with maximum productivity.
  • Manage the procurement process, including the invitation to tender advertisements; the preparation of tender documentation; co-ordination of the tender assessment process; preparation of the tender report to Council and preparation of the contract documentation.
  • Apply project management principles and practices with particular emphasis on Council’s P3M (based on PMBoK Principles) to achieve desired outcomes meeting time, quality, and budget requirements.

Key Knowledge & Experience
  • Recognised degree qualifications in Project Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Construction Management or other related discipline.
  • Class ‘C’ Driver’s Licence
  • Extensive and demonstrated experience in the project management of a wide range of projects and programs - typically at least 10 years’ experience.
