A local government authority are seeking a digital communications professional to lead their high performing team. The role will focus on bringing the organisation along on the website update journey. The position will be supporting with projects and initiatives to ensuring the strategic goals become a reality.
Responsibilities
- Lead the execution and evaluation of a wide range of digital communications projects and activities to raise awareness and inform the community about Council services, initiatives and events.
- Foster new ideas and creative ways of working to ensure Council’s digital and social communications are relevant, targeted and have meaningful impact.

Strategically drive and evolve Council’s websites to ensure their functionality delivers an integrated and seamless customer experience.
- Provide high level communications advice to the Chief Executive Officer and Senior Leadership Team on key issues, policy matters and implementation priorities to support Council objectives.

Coordinate the day-to-day management and ongoing development of Council’s websites, ensuring content is accurate, well-written and designed for maximum reach and impact.
- Measure and report on the effectiveness of digital campaigns, delivering data insights and actionable recommendations.
- Coordinate a SEO strategy to improve search engine rankings and develop performance metrics to support website engagement and performance.
- Coach and influence staff to ensure behaviours align with Council’s values.
Key requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Communications/ Digital or relevant experience
- Proven experience leading a team and fostering a great culture
- Previous experience developing and implementing strategy
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines
- Experience presenting information to senior leaders
- Demonstrated ability to develop new techniques/ways of working
