Join a high-performing People & Culture team as a Shared Services Lead with a strong focus on HR operations, payroll, systems, compliance, and continuous improvement.

This is a dynamic leadership opportunity within a progressive and community-focused Local Government, where your expertise will directly shape and improve internal service delivery across the employee lifecycle.

As Shared Services Lead, you'll drive operational excellence across payroll, OHS, and systems reporting. You’ll oversee a passionate team and lead initiatives that enhance data integrity, streamline processes, and improve compliance and reporting outcomes.

With your focus on service, compliance, and optimisation, you’ll be a critical connector between HR, Finance, IT, and senior leadership.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead end-to-end payroll operations and the implementation of a new payroll system
  • Oversee HR and OHS administration processes, documentation, and compliance
  • Deliver strategic reporting and data analytics using tools like Power BI
  • Drive continuous improvement, automation, and best practice across all shared services
  • Manage employment contracts, compliance checks, and policy reviews
  • Lead, coach, and support a diverse team of specialists across payroll, HR operations, OHS, and child safety
About You

We’re looking for an experienced shared services or HR operations leader with:

  • Experience across HR Operations, including payroll and compliance
  • Hands on payroll experience
  • Demonstrated success in leading change and delivering HR systems projects
  • Strong people leadership experience and a passion for coaching high-performing teams
  • Tech-savvy with confidence using HRIS platforms, Excel, and Power BI
  • A collaborative style, a high attention to detail, and a proactive, problem-solving approach
