The Commercial Sourcing Specialist is responsible for the provision of analytical, documentation and strategic support across the Institution's deferred maintenance program.
Decision Making & Delegations of Authority
This position reports to the Portfolio Manager for Construction, Facilities and Services, and works as a dedicated resource within the Deferred Maintenance (DM) program team. The incumbent is expected to exercise initiative and judgement in coordinating multiple activities concurrently on projects or business as usual tasks, and in resolving complex issues associated with procurement related analysis and reporting. Problems that cannot be resolved and are outside the scope of their key accountabilities are referred to the Portfolio Manager, or Associate Director.
This position will use professional know-how and judgement to make day to day decisions in order to provide service, problem solving, advice and guidance within policy but will also be guided by professional standards, practices and governing statutory requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities
Support the development and execution of sourcing strategies (sourcing events)
- To identify and capture sustainable benefits and the development of market opportunities.
- To deliver sourcing projects, based on demand and priorities.
- To assist in the management of the sourcing project pipeline.
- To assist in the development of strategies in collaboration with the DM project team, for specific elements of the DM program, taking into account markets and industries that impact the program.
- To inform comparative analysis, contract review and sourcing activities.
- Due to the fact this is a dedicated resource, support will be limited to reporting information sharing, to assist with holistic portfolio views.
- Utilise supplier / contract performance management frameworks to measure supplier performance.
- Report any issues via agreed reporting format and assist in determining solutions for resolution.
- Respond efficiently and professionally to stakeholder enquiries and requests for assistance. This includes the provision of advice and guidance in relation to procurement processes and tools.
- To accelerate the maturity of Procurement Services in the area of strategic sourcing and category management
Tertiary qualifications in Business, Engineering or Commerce or relevant discipline.
