Charterhouse Legal is currently working with a law firm in Melbourne in the recruitment of a commercial litigation (insurance) lawyer.

About the Role
  • Full time, permanent 
  • Flexible 2025 start date (January/February)
  • Be responsible for fulfilling on the firms steady intake of insurance law (motor vehicle work)
Skills & Experience
  • Admitted in Queensland or another state in Australia
  • Experienced in insurance law  is preferred
  • Court experience 
  • The ability to communicate effectively to a range of stakeholders 
  • Drafting and settling claims
  • Ability to appear and advocate for clients at settlement conferences
  • Provide advice on prospects of success with matters
  • Ability to work closely with a corporate client
  • Be able to work with high volume of magistrates ct claims
  • Be able to brief counsel and lead matters to trial
  • Make application for summary judgment and opposing of same
  • Sound understanding and use of the UCPR
