Primary Purpose of the Role
The Workshop Service Advisor will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of the workshop, serving internal clients predominantly from a Heavy Diesel or Automotive background. This role involves liaising with customers, management, and technical staff, conveying customer requirements and concerns accurately to the workshop, managing repair orders and invoicing, advising on future maintenance requirements, and maintaining the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Customer and Stakeholder Liaison:
o Act as the primary point of contact between internal clients, management, and workshop staff.
o Communicate all customer requirements and concerns accurately and promptly to the workshop team.
o Provide updates to clients on the progress of their repairs and maintenance.

Repair Orders and Invoicing:
o Manage the daily flow of repair orders from initiation to completion.
o Ensure accurate and timely invoicing for all services rendered.
o Maintain detailed records of all repair orders and customer interactions.

Maintenance Advice:
o Assess vehicle and equipment conditions and provide clients with professional advice future maintenance requirements.
o Schedule and coordinate preventive maintenance activities to minimise downtime.

Customer Satisfaction:
o Strive to maintain the highest levels of customer satisfaction through effectivecommunication and efficient service delivery.
o Address and resolve any customer complaints or issues promptly and professionally.

Operational Efficiency:
o Work closely with the Workshop Supervisor and technical staff to ensure smooth and efficient workshop operations.
o Assist in the planning and allocation of resources to meet service demands.

Administrative Duties:
o Prepare and present regular reports on workshop activities, customer feedback, and operational performance.
o Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and standards.

Qualifications & Experience

Experience:
o Proven experience as a Service Advisor in the Automotive Industry, preferably within a Heavy Diesel or similar environment.
o Demonstrated experience in managing high volume repair orders, invoicing, and customer interactions.

Mechanical Knowledge:
o Strong mechanical knowledge and background, with the ability to understand and communicate technical issues effectively.
o Familiarity with heavy diesel and automotive systems and components.

Time Management:
o Outstanding time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
o Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Communication Skills:
o Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and concisely.
o Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal clients and team members.

Additional Requirements
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
  • A valid driver’s licence, with a preference for a Heavy Vehicle licence.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and software related to workshop management and invoicing.
