Job description
Procurement Support Officer (Grade 3/4) - NSW Government Contract- Immediate start, ideally before Christmas
- Initial contract through to 28th March 2025 with the view to extend and opportunity to apply for the permanent position
- $40 per hour + super
- Wollongong location/Hybrid - 3 days per week required in the office (Wednesdays are required on site, the other two days are flexible)
- Full time, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
We are looking for someone who is a quick learner and able to hit the ground running with exceptional data entry and processing skills.
Day to day responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Receiving and reviewing purchasing requests
- Processing requests according to the required procedures and being able to determine where escalation and additional approval is required
- Taking enquiries over the phone and email
- Records and database management
- Data entry and processing
- Creating purchase orders
- Managing relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Other ad-hoc administration tasks as required
Skills/Experience:
- Previous experience is essential, Government experience is beneficial
- Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
- Great attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
- Previous experience in a purchasing/procurement environment
- Ability to make decisions regarding processing or escalation
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong administration skills
