About the RoleOur client, a progressive and dynamic organisation, is seeking an experienced Senior Employee Relations Advisor to join their People Experience team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive, collaborative environment, alongside a talented team of Employee Relations advisors, reporting directly to the Manager, Employee Relations.
This role focuses on providing expert employee relations support, including interpreting industrial instruments and policies, managing performance and conduct issues, conflict resolution, handling ill and injured employees, and offering training services. The position is full-time, ongoing, and offers a flexible hybrid working model. The office is conveniently located near the CBD and public transport links.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the development and continuous improvement of employee relations policies
- Provide expert guidance and senior-level advice to the Employee Relations team
- Offer high-quality, responsive employee relations services, including interpreting industrial instruments and policies, managing employer concerns, resolving conflicts, addressing performance issues, and supporting ill and injured employees
- Cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Manage complex cases and projects with minimal supervision
- Provide advocacy in the Fair Work Commission and other tribunals as needed
- Contribute to the development and execution of operational plans for the Employee Relations team
- Assist the General Manager and Manager, Employee Relations, as required
- Perform other duties within your scope of practice
- Expertise in employment law and the application of workplace relations legislation
- Proven experience in employee relations policy development, with strong attention to detail and advanced writing skills
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor ER team members and build strong working relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Experience leading and resolving complex workplace issues and cases
