This Australian construction business, responsible for building homes, offices and shop is looking to expand their high caliber finance team as 2IC for Group Accounting. This business is known for promoting their staff internally and offering career progression and development. Based in Sydney’s CBD, they are close to public transport and the CBD’s bars and restaurants.
About the role
My client requires someone that can drive and manage the delivery of financial accounting services for the group in a 2IC capacity.
- Drive and lead the delivery of accurate financial accounting information
- Drive and oversee the delivery of a high performing Group Accounting team that encompasses: Intercompany and Close & Consolidation
- Manage close and consolidation activities, including supporting Business Unit month end and performing transfer journals, accrual journals and fall over provisions
- Lead the preparation and review of accurate accounting information
- Oversee the preparation and review of robust and meaningful balance sheet reconciliation's for Group
- Accountable for the compliance with audit, tax and other regulatory obligations within remit
- Responsible for the review monthly/half yearly regulatory requirements for submission to teams such as Tax and Statutory Reporting
- Support and manage proactive engagement with other Business Units on the identification of opportunities, management of risks, drivers of business performance, opportunities, trends, and their implications for the business
- Proven experience in a Finance Manager role gained from a combination of property sectors, large, listed organisations and or BIG 4 consulting firms
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including the ability to inspire and mentor a team
- CA/CPA qualification or equivalent, with a degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
