  • 6-week contract, to start ASAP
  • Working alongside the wider OHS team & reporting into the Senior OHS Advisor
About the company:

Our client, a local government authority, is looking for an injury management advisor to join the OHS team. You will be reporting to the Senior OHS Advisor.

This position has come about to cover some annual leave in the team. It is initially contracted for 6 weeks but could be extended. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday. The company offers hybrid work arrangements, 2 days from home and 3 days in the office.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • To provide effective and efficient management of WorkCover claims, non-work-related injuries and illnesses, ensuring effective return to work arrangements.
  • To assist in and support OHS initiatives and activities.
  • To assist managers and employees to ensure they understand their obligations and responsibilities regarding WorkCover and return to work arrangements.
  • To prepare reports and provide data as required and provide advice on implications for and issues affecting Council’s WorkCover insurance premium.
  • To ensure that all relevant statutory obligations are met.
You will have the following:

  • Degree or diploma and some relevant experience or lesser formal qualifications with substantial experience.
  • Relevant experience in WorkCover claims management and processing and OHS.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in WorkCover/insurance contract management and
  • administration.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing WorkCover claims and premium management and a detailed understanding of relevant legislation and procedures.
  • Proven ability to analyse and manage WorkCover claims, prepare documentation and undertake relevant actions.
  • Proven ability to gain co-operation of staff and people leaders and ability to undertake worksite assessments and prepare, implement and successfully manage Return to Work plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake research and analysis and prepare reports and other high-level documents.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in workplace OHS issues, including an understanding of the risk management process in an OHS context.
