Job description

• Senior Financial Accountant 9/10 - NSW State Government 
• 5 Months Contract
• $75 per hour + super 
• CBD + WFH

• Prepare financial statements, reports and accounting workpapers, to inform NSW Treasury and other stakeholders on the organisational financial position, in accordance with established deadlines
• Prepare pre-payment and accrual journals and other end of month activities, to enable informed financial decision making and budget forecasting
• Implementing and undertaking accounting functions and projects as required, including asset management, cash management, systems development and process improvement, to support organisational requirements
• Proactively identify and resolve financial risks including transactional, reporting and account reconciliation issues, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the Department’s audit and compliance requirements are met.
• Work closely with the Department’s financial services providers to ensure that the processing of financial transactions is accurate and timely under the terms of service level agreement.
• Partner with key stakeholders by providing general financial advice on policy and procedures, to ensure legislative requirements are met.

• Experience in accounting and related software systems (SAP, Oracle or similar).
• Relevant tertiary qualifications and eligibility for membership to a professional accounting body.
• Have Tax, foreign exchange exposure
