  • Provide guidance, advice and support to managers regarding their OHS responsibilities and the achievement of Council’s organisational objectives
  • Hybrid work model (3 office days for full-time, 2 office days for part-time) | $48 - $55 per hour + super
About the Role
Our client, a Local Government in the inner suburbs of Melbourne, is looking for a Senior OHS Advisor to join their OHS team. You will be working alongside a team of safety professionals and reporting into the Manager of Health Safety & Risk.

This role can either be full-time, Monday – Friday or the council would consider part-time (minimum of 3 days per week). The council offer hybrid work options, 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance and advice on OHS matters to managers and staff.
  • Lead initiatives to prevent workplace injuries and manage safety risks effectively.
  • Conduct audits, analyse OHS statistics, and drive compliance with legislative and organizational standards.
  • Develop and deliver tailored OHS training programs to enhance workplace safety practices.
  • Stay updated on legislative changes and industry best practices, ensuring their implementation within the organization.
You will have the following:

  • Significant experience in an OHS advisory role or similar.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of OHS legislation, regulations, and best practices.
  • Proven ability to manage OHS projects and implement safety management systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • A relevant qualification in OHS or Risk Management (minimum Diploma level).
