3-month Business Support Officer opportunity to work for a large Council in the Southeast suburbs

  • Previous administration experience essential | Experience with TechOne will be considered an advantage.
  • Represent a Local Government authority providing excellent service to members of the community 
  • Own transport required| 3-month temp opportunity
You will be working in a council located in the Sotuh-Eastern suburbs. You will work with the Waste Management team, where they provide essential services to the entire community, including bin collection, hard waste services, dumped rubbish collection, and litter bin collection. As a Business Support Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring that service requests are efficiently actioned and that queries from customer service or residents are addressed promptly.

You will be responsible for:  

  • Manage and action a high volume of service requests.
  • Respond to queries from customer service and residents in a timely manner.
  • Support the Waste Management team in operational processes and communication.
  • Providing accurate and timely information to members of the public via telephone and email, focusing on data-related inquiries.
  • Supporting the Council's positive image by delivering services and advice in a courteous and efficient manner.
To be successful you will have:   

  • Experience in an operational environment is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to develop visually appealing documents and templates that are clear, easy to read, and compliant with legislative and corporate standards.
  • Proficient in formatting correspondence and Council documents (e.g., reports) in accordance with the corporate style guide.
  • Experience in inputting and maintaining accurate information in Council databases in a timely manner.
  • Skill in ensuring the accuracy of documents and templates to align with corporate style requirements.
  • Familiarity with storing documents in the Council’s corporate records systems.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
