Customer Support Officer - NSW Government
  • Immediate start - Initial 1 month contract with extension through to December 2027 confirmed for the right candidate
  • Sydney CBD location
  • Hybrid working flexibility available after training period
  • Full time, Monday to Friday
  • $40 - $45ph + super
  • Experience with Zendesk or in an Education or Government environment would be beneficial but not essential
This is a great opportunity to work with this Government department within the Education sector located in the Sydney CBD. You will be working in a friendly and supportive team and the position offers hybrid working flexibility after the initial training period.

We are looking for a standout Customer Service professional who is customer-focused, organised and highly driven with the ability to commit to longer term work after the initial 1 month contract period.

We require candidates who can hit the ground running, are calm with a fast-paced training period and able to adapt quickly in a new environment. Experience in a similar role within a call centre environment would be highly advantageous.

About the Role:
  • This role will assist the team by answering phone calls from customers/stakeholders to gather relevant or required information from the caller before passing these details through to the specialist team who will then provide answers and respond to these enquiries
  • Ensuring that the callers are feeling heard and understood, they can sometimes be frustrated being unable to get through, or having to wait on hold
  • Using the required systems to accurately transcribe the enquiry information in detail
  • Managing the inbox and replying to email enquiries
  • Other administrative duties to support the team as required
Skills/Experience:

In this role you will be the first point of contact for the organisation.
It is essential that you enjoy providing a high level of customer service treating customers with honest, fairness, sensitivity and dignity.
  • 1-2 years experience in a call centre or customer service role
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Highly organised with the ability to take initiative and manage competing priorities
  • High level of professionalism
  • Strong problem solving abilities, especially in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced computer literacy skills
