- Salary up to $162,902 + super with opportunities to drive strategic ER initiatives and represent the organisation externally
We’re partnering with a prominent education body to recruit a Manager, Employee Relations – a key leadership role supporting schools across a large and dynamic network.
This is a hybrid opportunity based in East Melbourne, with 3 days in-office and 2 days from home. You’ll lead a capable team of 3–5 employee relations professionals, providing strategic and operational support on a broad range of employee relations matters.
As Manager, Employee Relations, you’ll be responsible for delivering expert ER guidance across a large education system. You'll lead complex casework, support EBA interpretation and implementation, and build capability within your team to deliver service excellence.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing ER team, providing coaching, support and direction.
- Manage complex ER matters including investigations, performance, and disputes.
- Build trusted relationships with principals, senior leaders, and sector stakeholders.
- Represent the organisation in tribunals, commissions, and enterprise agreement negotiations.
- Contribute to policy development, ER strategy, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong leadership experience in employee or industrial relations.
- Proven ability to build team capability and lead through change.
- Deep knowledge of employment legislation, enterprise agreements, and award interpretation.
- A strategic mindset and confidence working with senior stakeholders and external bodies.
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills.
