Temporary Assistant Operations Manager

About the role:

As the Assistant Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day management of the shopping centre, ensuring that all operational functions are executed efficiently and effectively. You will assist the Centre Manager and Operations Manager in overseeing the centre’s operations, managing staff, and implementing policies to enhance the customer experience and operational efficiency.

Duties:
  • Assist in managing daily operations of the shopping centre, including maintenance, security, and customer service
  • Supervise and support the operations team, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations
  • Ensure the shopping centre is clean, safe, and well-maintained, coordinating with contractors and service providers as needed
  • Address and resolve customer inquiries, complaints, and issues, providing exceptional service and support
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements, conducting regular inspections and implementing safety protocols
  • Support the planning and execution of in-centre events and promotions, working closely with the marketing team to drive foot traffic and enhance customer engagement
About you:
  • Proven experience in a similar shopping centre operations role is highly beneficial. Previous experience in retail or facility management is also desirable.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-focused approach.
  • You will be in charge of contractor management and an important member of the tenancy delivery team.
  • Ability to identify issues and implement solutions promptly, with strong attention to detail
  • Experience with risk management, emergency response protocols, and compliance will also be highly valued
