- Initial contract until 30th June (view to extend)
- Up to $900 per day + super
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Ruby on Rails.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to define and implement new features.
- Optimise applications for maximum speed, performance, and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications to ensure smooth functionality.
- Implement and maintain security and data protection measures.
- Write and maintain technical documentation.
- Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other developers.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to improve development practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Ruby on Rails developer (2+ years preferred).
- Strong understanding of Ruby, Rails framework, and MVC architecture.
- Experience with front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and frameworks like React or Vue.js.
- Knowledge of SQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and query optimisation.
- Experience with RESTful APIs and integrating third-party services.
- Familiarity with test-driven development (TDD) and automated testing frameworks.
- Proficiency in using version control systems like Git.
- Experience with deployment and DevOps tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
